2004/12/30: Kouhaku Reherasal

Aya was not sure to make it to this year's rehearsal because of a very bad cold she had caught earlier this week. Since her high temperature of 39°C would not fall she was given a Garlic Injection on the 28th and is feeling better now allowing her to be present at the Kouhaku rehearsal on the 29th.

2004/12/26: "Install" opening day greeting!

Aya, Ryunosuke Kamiki and director Kataoka K were on stage on the 25th at the opening day greeting for their latest movie "Install" released on the same date. 160 people were present as a huge 40cm long and 60cm wide cake was also brought on stage to celebrate the event!

2004/12/24: Yearly Oricon Top 100!

Aya made it in this year's Oricon Top100 best selling singles, "Ai no tameni." ranked #94 with a total of 99,470 copies sold. Congratulations to Aya and let's wish her more singles in the top 100 for the years to come! You can view the full charts here.

2004/12/20: New live action drama!

Aya will be incarnating the role of Kozue in the new live drama version of the 1960 hit anime "Attack No.1". The story by Urano Chikako first appeared in 1968 in the weekly magazine "Marguerite", the comic itself sold about 2 million copies. Aya mentioned having trained hard for the part, as she will be playing a volleyball player. The drama is scheduled to start in April on TV Asahi.

2004/12/13: Aya X'mas Party 2004!

Aya held another event on December 12th at Yokohama BLITZ. 1500 fans showed up to see Aya perform songs from her latest album "Re." and also a Christmas classic, "Akahana no tonakai" (Red-Nosed Reindeer). Aya waited till the end of the event to announce to her fans that a 2nd national live tour was planned for summer 2005.

2004/12/08: Early x'mas present!!

Hello visitors, as an early x'mas present I have updated the music page with Aya's new album "Re." which debuted today at #12 on the Oricon album charts! If you like the album don't forget to support Aya and buy the CD, enjoy!

2004/12/05: Second voice acting role!

Aya will lend her voice for the new animation movie "Ashita genki ni na~re! ~hanbun no satsumai mo~" based on the novel by Ebina Kayoko. It will tell the story of a family torn apart after a massive air raid. Aya will voice the main character, Kayoko. Voice recording for the film will be completed in spring 2005 and the theatrical release is schedule for august.

2004/11/24: 55th Kouhaku participation!!

NHK announced this year's Kouhaku Uta kassen participants on the 24th. Aya will be performing for the first time on the show scheduled to air on New Year's Eve alongside other newcomers such as Otsuka Ai and Lee Jung Hyun. To view the full list of this year's participating singers you can visit NHK's official Kouhaku website.

In other news, Triumph International, a major Bra company, awarded Aya the very first "Triumph Little Devil Grand Prize" for her "mischievous" sexiness often hidden behind her pure image. The commendation ceremony was performed in Roppongi, Tokyo as the hall was charmed by Aya's outfit, a 'devil' like black dress.

2004/11/23: "Usotsuki" Weekly sales

Aya's 10th single "Usotsuki" ranked #12 on the weekly oricon single charts with a total of19,015 copies sold. Congratulations to Aya!

2004/11/22: New event + lyrics update

Aya will be having another live event, "Re. minna matteru ne! Aya's X'mas Party 2004", on 12/12 to commemorate the release of her 3rd album, scheduled to hit stores December 8th. The event will be held at the YOKOHAMA BLITZ, only the people with a participation ticket included in their copy of "Re." will be attentind the event so hurry and preorder your copy!

2004/11/21: "Usotsuki" live event!

Aya held a special live event to commemorate the sales of her latest single "Usotsuki" that released on 11/17. The event took place in both Osaka and Tokyo. Aya visited the EBIS303 in Tokyo in the morning where 1500 people were present. She then went to the ACT hall in Osaka where 2000 had been waiting to conclude the event.

2004/11/19: Tackey & Aya in new cm!

Takizawa Hideaki will be starring in the new Oronamin C CM with Aya. Previous 'Oronamin C' commercials featured Shinjo Tsuyoshi and korean actor Bae Yong Joon as supporting actors. This will be the second time co-starring with Hideaki for Aya, the first being the new taiga drama "Yoshitsune" that is set to hit TV screens on January 9th. The new CM for the energy drink will be on air 11/27.

2004/11/17: Oricon ranking + lyrics update

Aya's new single "Usotsuki", on sale now, debuted at #11 on the daily Oricon single charts! I added the lyrics to usotsuki, enjoy!

2004/11/11: Fire Prevention Event!

Aya participated in a fire fighting exercise on November 9th at the Fire Department in Shibuya, Tokyo, as the one-day chief. For the occasion, Aya wore the same uniform as the real chef himself. The event was held to demonstrate how the emergency services' would handle things in case of an earthquake. Aya took part in the exercise and even gave commands.

2004/11/08: Album news & updates!

Aya's new album "Re." will hit stores on December 8th. It will include "Kaze", "Afuresou na ai, daite", "Namida wo fuite" and the latest single "Usotsuki". Aya collaborated with Hirosawa Tadashi (he penned 'Namida wo fuite') on a track for the album called "Fuyu no hanabi" (which translates to Winter fireworks). The first press edition of the album will come with a special bonus not yet revelead. You can preorder the album on CDJapan or Yesasia!

2004/10/26: 17th T!FF ceremony!

Aya was present at the red carpet ceremony of the 17th Tokyo International Film Festival held in Roppongi on the 23rd. Her new movie "Install" is part of the competition alongside other films from all over the world. She will also be one of the celebrity guests at the Virgin Toho Cinemas in Roppongi Hills for the screening of "Install" on the 27th (today in Japan) and on the 30th.

Aya has finished the recording of her new single "Usotsuki" that will release on 11/17, she will be performing the main track on NHK's POP JAM on November 12th.

2004/10/13: Men's Plaza AOKI new CM!

Aya will be featured next to professional wrestler Naoya Ogawa in, yes, another CM. This time for menswear brand 'Men's plaza AOKI' the commercial will start airing on October 20th.

Aya's new movie 'Azumi 2', sequel to the 2003 movie of the same name will hit theaters in Japan on March 12th!

2004/10/04: Aya in yet another new CM!

Aya was chosen as the new image character for 'Yahoo! BB hikari', replacing famous idol Hirosue Ryoko. The CM will be on air tomorrow, October 5th!

Also, the special 2 hour movie 'Ace wo nerae! Kiseki e no chousen' will be released on DVD December 22nd!

2004/09/15: New single, album & more!

Aya's new (10th) single will be on sale 11/17! Two versions will be available, DVD+CD (PCCA-2081) and CD only (PCCA-2082). Aya's 3rd album (PCCA-2100) will be released on 12/8. You can preorder the single on YesAsia or CDjapan.

Filming of the new taiga drama 'Yoshitsune' (also starring Hideaki Takizawa and Goto Maki) started this month. It'll start airing January 9th on TV Asahi.

2004/09/09: Secret live + new CM!

Aya held a secret live today as a present for 200 lucky buyers of 'AYA' glasses and 100 members of her fan club. She sang an acoustic version of 'Ai no tameni.', 'Namida wo fuite' and two other songs.

Aya's new CM for Srfea by LOTTE will be on air starting September 14th.

2004/09/06: Site renewal!

Finally found the time (and the courage) to make a new layout for this, new host too :3 <3 enaya

Aya will be releasing a new photobook on September 14th called "natural". A special event to commemorate it's release will be held on Sept. 12th at Kinokuniya Bookstore.
